what once was

I'm going to try out tumblr. I think I like how their blog looks better. And I'm going to try to make a blog people may read. Even though I'm not a writer. I'll post a link if i can figure out how to use my account.

I

I am not: having a very good "post-post secondary" experience...yet.
I hurt: after the cape split hike
I love: you
I hate: not knowing what's going to happen in the future.
I fear: not living upto my own expectations
I hope: i find a decent job soon
I regret: not taking time off before university
I cry: a lot.
I care: too much about what others are doing.
I always: over-exaggerate
I long: to travel
I listen: to new music as much as i can.
I hide: my fears..and some of my dreams.
I write: even though i know no one reads it.
I miss: old friends i know i could still be in touch with.
I learn: from my friends mistakes
I feel: lonely
I know: i'll be OK
I want: too much.
I worry: only about the bigger picture
I wish: i could take control of my finances
I have: had a very good life so far.
I give: 100% in any relationship.
I wait: for something i can't put my finger on.
I need: Money.

I knew it!

I've always had a sneaking suspicion that Leah Miller from Much Music was in a relationship with Dallas Green (From City and Colour & Alexisionfire) and it's true!

While I may be a bit behind in the times, I hadn't, until this article, heard their names in the same sentence. I just had a feeling because of something Hillary Duff (who I also suspect to be a friend of Leah's) said in an interview on the show.

Anyway, to read more about them and their possible engagement (albeit and old story) click here.

FINALLY!

A summer concert worth the price of admission (how much, exactly, i'm not sure yet).

Sonic Entertainment is re-inventing the Concert on the Hill for the indie scene... Local bands like Wintersleep and Hey Rosetta! will be there, as well as some great Canadian acts including Stars and City & Colour who will be headlining.

Sounds pretty solid to me. Tickets go on public sale Saturday, June 21st at 10am and are available at all Ticketpro outlets. Click here to get the exact locations and (when they update the site) things like rules and whatnot.

You say tomato, they say "Salmonella".

So we all know about the tomato/Salmonella crisis happening in the U.S.. and how the food at most tomatoes are brought in to fast food restaurants from the U.S. I just want to say that my subway yesterday was seriously lacking from the tomato ban. I want to know when this will end!

Justice for all/Justice Pour Tous

Like Daft Punk? You'll like these guys, too.
JUSTICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - DVNO (Not sure what that even means yet.) It's a wicked tune.. I'll be downloading...err I mean going to the store for their album ASAP.

If you liked that, check out more Justice on their myspace page.

Muxtapes

No, that's not a typo..

It's one of the coolest things since youtube that you can get online for free (i think, anyway). With Muxtape you can set up an account and then upload tunes to a page of your own that anyone can listen from. It think it's great how well they've made a flash-based site look so good and non-flashy.

I can't make an account at work because I have no music, but when I get home I'm going to do one and I'll post it later.

this would be a cool thing to use at a party.. a bunch of people make a page and then at the party they get played and everyone is happy & gets to be DJ for a bit but no one has to sit beside the computer!

Measuring Memory

I like to cook and bake... and that requires measuring. and math.(boo) Apartment Therapy has made this discovery (apparently taught in grade schools somewhere) that will definitely help those of you who are more visually inclined, to remember their cups-to-gallon measurements.

Obviously, the big G represents Gallons, the Q's Quarts, P's are Pints and C's cups.

A comment on the post mentioned that a Quart is called a Quart because it is 1/4 of a Gallon. Who knew?!

PS. I did not make the little diagram, That's From Apartment Therapy's Site thekitchn.com... if I had, I would have made the G a little better.. and chosen a different typeface.

4:00 Blues

it's 4. I'm bored out of my tree.

this sucks.

In other news, my brother got in a fight on the weekend...rather he got beat up. This rift he has with some guys at school and around our community is hopefully over. I'm sick of the tension and stress that it creates at our house.

Our bathroom makeover project is slowed to all but a halt recently. We ended up having to order wall tile and it won't be in until a week from today. I am really looking forward to the project being done. My mom and I got some awesome red towels on a great sale to add a bit of color to the design.. We should be going out soon to gather all of the other accessories.

My friend Joanne is heading to Edmonton on the 29th until further notice, so on Friday a few of us are getting together for a potluck gathering and then heading downtown for a little fun.. I'm pumped for that. We haven't all been out together since...probably...Christmas. (TOO LONG!!)

I don't have any fun pictures that relate at this point, but i will leave you with the new Coldplay Title Track Viva la Vida courtesy of youtube.

Swingtown

So I had a few girls over last night to watch So You Think You Can Dance, which was fun. After Dance was over, we watched the Thursday night prime time pilot episode of Swingtown on CBS. It seems like an interesting show...sort of along the lines of Big Love in it's comment on modern marriages, but this time they screw around without marrying one another which also makes it feel like Desperate Housewives in some parts. My friend Joanne remarked that it seemed confusing and that it lacks a plot... and I was surprised when the unsuspecting new couple across the street became swingers in the first episode...I think I'll watch this show a few times before I decide whether or not I like it. The best parts so far are the 70s setting and the hot English teacher.

Hot Hot Heat.

CBC.ca is reporting a hotter than normal summer ahead. Personally, I feel like they say this every summer and then there are maybe 5 memorable HOT days around here. In any case, I think we deserve a hot summer after the horrible winter just past.

The summer of Blog

So i have started a new temp job...for the Province's Department of health. It is painfully boring and so I predict that I'll be posting a lot. I can't use facebook, so there's not much else to do besides brows the internet and post random stuff. Starting now.
